Travelling from outside London

Get in on the action - Trafalgar Square 1-3pm, Saturday 4 November.

Book early, and you'll get yourself a good deal for your jouney using public transport.

If you are organising a coach, train, mass bike ride, or other journey, please tell us.

Rail
Groups of 10 or more can obtain preferential rates directly from train operators. Plus many train companies offer a GroupSave promotion where up to four people can travel for the price of 2 adults.

Car: if you cannot avoid coming by car fill it up with others near you! Go to www.liftshare.org to find others on route or in your town to share with.

Bus & Coach

MegaBus:  £2 to London from anywhere in the country!

You can travel to the event from any Megabus destination for just £2 each way plus a 50p booking fee.

The deal includes travel the day before, Friday 3rd, and after, Sunday 5th of November. Use www.megabus.com  for timetables.

Phone the special line on 07740 938 954 which is open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Have your credit card ready.

You need to quote 'RSPB 2006' to get the special offer. Bookings are restricted to a maximum of 15 people per booking. The event starts at 1pm so aim to arrive with enough time to get to Trafalgar Square. It finishes at 3pm.

The bus will arrive at Greenline Coach Station, Victoria. It’s only a 20 minute walk from Victoria to Trafalgar Square, or there are plenty of public transport connections.

Megabus tickets:

Birmingham: Louise Hazan at Friends of the Earth has booked 15 Megabus tickets. You can get yours from her by emailing: [email protected] or calling 0121 643 9117.

Train:

Derby: Reverend Stuart Radford is travelling by the 8.34 train, meet him at 8.25 to travel together. He is happy to answer questions about bookings and trains. Contact him on [email protected] or 01332 516883

Leeds: Tidal have block booked 40 cheap tickets - phone 0113 3917917 or email [email protected] to get hold of them. The train leaves Leeds station at 9.40am arriving in London at 12.26. There is a choice of return trains; leaving 4.10 or 5.10 and arriving in Leeds at 6.55 or 7.55.

Southampton: contact Jani Franck,[email protected] for details about group bookings for the 9am train from Southampton Central. They are also making posters and banners on Thursday 2nd November.

Mold, North Wales: the coach will leave Mold from the old KwikSave car-park at 6am, and pick up in Wrexham from the Sainsbury car-park at 6.20am, hoping to arrive in Grosvenor Square approx mid-day.  Cost £20, £15 for students  (approx £5 refund if we get a full coach. Contact Rob on 01352 710714
